We want to ask the people of Kenya to wake up- Raila Odinga.
In his address today, with the Jubilee party, opposition leader Raila Odinga called upon every Kenyans to wake up and fight.
He lamented that the country is in danger and if Kenyans don’t work harmoniously to fight the “ illegimate regime” they are going to suffer.
He stated,”We want to ask the people of Kenya to wake up; wake up to the fact that the country is in serious trouble and there is no reason whatsoever for anyone to imagine that things will get better.”
“Extraordinary times require extraordinary action and resolve. We will not relent at all,” he added
This comes a day after police allegedly raided the Jubilee party headquarters. In his statement, Raila Stated that the government is trying to get rid of multi- partism and fuel dictatorship.
Raila has been vocal about getting Ruto out of office, maintaining that he rigged the 2022 general elections.
He stated,” It does not matter how many times Mr Ruto pontificates, or how many times he makes solemn promises, these will not help him get away with the theft of elections.
“We aren’t turning back until the illegitimate regime vacates office,” he added.
His sentiments have raised reactions netizens;
Wachira wrote,” I think so far you guys are doing your roles as the opposition quite well. This KK government needs serious oversight. Keep it up.”
Mungai expressed,”Kenya is doing just fine, but Azimio Coalition is in serious trouble. It still doesn’t believe it lost the election, despite going to Supreme Court and not having credible evidence.”
Ali posed,” Over the years that Raila was in the opposition, he always said “the country is in serious trouble” yet we lived and carried on. What exceptional does 2023 has?“
