They should be shown the door- Cherargei calls for exit of Azimio afiliates holding positions in government.
Nandi senator, Simon Cherargei has called on president Ruto to retrench Azimio la umoja supportes or allies who are still holding senior positions in government.
Speaking at an interview at spice FM, the senator highlighted that there’s no need for the individuals to be working in the government , yet they do not support William Ruto’s presidency.
He stated,”In this government, there are still very many remnants of Azimio One Kenya Alliance in senior positions and they should be shown the door. There is no option.”
He argued that there is no way, one can serve under a master they do not believe in. He stated that the positions are better off handed to Kenya kwanza afiliates.
He stated,”These are people that were known not to respect the President when he was the deputy, they campaigned for the other candidate but how can you serve under me when you did not believe in my vision.”
He defended his statements saying, through this exit, the president can be able to work and deliver to Kenyans, through people who believe in him.
Cherargei stated,”Let the remnants of Azimio who are within the system be cleaned so that when the president delivers he does so on a clean slate with people who believe in him. There is no two-way about it.”
Additionally, he stated that if tables were turned and Raila odinga got to sit as the head of state, then he would have done the same thing.
He stated,”Even if Azimio had won they would also be cleaning up the system to get the remnants of people who were purported or thought to be friends of William Ruto. That is the tradition.”
