Wewe ni hustler sampuli gani– Kalonzo question Ruto on the plan to increase varsity fees.
Wiper party leader has told off the head of state regarding the government’s plan to increase university fees from 16k to 52k.
Speaking at Kakamega today, Kalonzo stated that Kenya kwanza will make so many students not to pursue their tertiary education because the fee is too high.
He added that Education is an important entity in the country and no student should be denied the chance to pursue their education because of lack of school fees.
He posed,”Wewe ni hustler sampuli gani? Watoto wa mahustler wenyewe sahii hakuna chakula nyumbani.”
“The most important thing you should give to your people is education. You cannot deny the Kenyan children education,” he added.
He pointed out that during the late president Kibaki’s regime, education was free and compulsory, why change now.
This comes after the education reforms taskforce led by Raphael Munavu, recommended that university fees should be increased in order to offset the public debt owed by universities.
The report read,”The Government should provide universities with a bailout package for pension, CBA and salary arrears that are pending.”
