Mass action preparations as police tighten their belts. Heavy roadblocks were erected in roads leading to state house.
Police officers on Wednesday erected roadblocks on major roads leading to the residences, this comes after Azimio la umoja leader declared that the 14- day ultimatum has lapsed.
Raila stated,” If these demands are not heeded within 14 days we shall lead Kenyans in mass action across the country to get their power back and restore sanity.”
On Wednesday, Azimio la umoja leaders met up at Chungwa house and issued a warning to the ruling government.
They stated that it is high time president Ruto gives a way forward in regards to the sky rocketing cost of living.
They threatened to storm the government treasury offices if president Ruto does not give heed to their demands.
They stated that ever since president Ruto stepped into office, what he has done is blame the former president, Uhuru Kenyatta for the decisions he made when it comes to the wellness of the country.
Sifuna stated,” If we as the representatives of the people have been unable to extract a plan for these people from the government of Kenya Kwanza we will take our people to Prof. Ndungu’s office so that he can explain to people what is the plan in terms of economic recovery.”
“We want answers and if they do not come in a few days we will have no option but to lead our supporters into these offices for answers,” they added.
Armed with guns, batons and teargas, police officers from Kisumu County have made sure that no unauthorized motorist or persons accesses the Jomo Kenyatta highway. This road leads to State Lodge, Kisumu and Milimani Estate
In Nairobi; all roads leading to State House had a team of police officers who erected bumps, Processional Way, State House Road, Dennis Pritt and Milimani Road, had police men on watch.
Raila Odinga is expected to give the way forward, anytime soon.
