Interior CS Kindiki issues a warning; This comes after Raila tried to access the directorate of criminal investigations offices, when Matiang’i was being grilled, on tuesday.
In a press briefing, Kindiki adviced state officers or any leaders to refrain from threatening security officers, or they will be met with dire consequences.
He stated,” I direct all security agencies to ensure that our security facilities remain protected areas and should not be allowed to become a theatre for politics or rowdy and unlawful behaviour including unauthorized access.”
He reprimanded Raila’s move to mobilize the people to go and intimidate the officers at the DCI headquarters.
He stated,”Some politicians, ostensibly going to provide political solidarity to Dr Matiang’i, caused disturbances including threats to mobilise people to forcibly access the DCI headquarters.”
“Going forward, any person regardless of their rank in society who threatens to forcibly access security facilities or intimidate officers on duty will be dealt with firmly, ruthlessly and decisively in accordance with the law,” he added
He additionally stated that the government will not disrupt the decision made by DCI .
He stated,” This is a major departure from how the police have treated suspects under the previous administration especially if these persons were politically exposed.”

On Tuesday when Matiang’i was being grilled, Raila caused a scene outside the offices, citing tha that was a public office, and anyone can access.
He argued,” This is a public office. You want me to order these people to open the gate by force. I have a right to go see the director. I have a right to go inside.”
