The national police service commission chairman, on saturday stated that police have been encouraged to defend themselves when things get worse in demonstrations.
Speaking at Malindi, Mr. kinuthia warned citizens against daring the police during protests, thinking the police won’t reiterate.
He urged citizens to be as peaceful as possible during the protests, instead of attacking the police who are there to maintain law and order.
He stated,”It is an offense to hurt a police officer, therefore, to all Kenyans seeking to participate in the protesters please exercise caution when dealing with our employees.”
” If you come to them carrying stones and hurling insults, I do not think I will encourage them to carry a rose flower. They will defend themselves and they are well trained to exercise caution,” he added.
The chairman reminded citizens that this law keepers have families that need them, if faced by rowdy people, they act accordingly.
He stated,”Police officers have families, they are human beings and if you come to them in peace you will enjoy maandamano.”
Raila has swore not to back down from his quest, he stated that protests will be held every monday and thursday until president Ruto gives in.
