Khwisero MP Aseka clarifies fight with Deceased member of county assembly, Maloba. Aseka dismissed allegations that the stabbing happened at his meeting venue.
Aseka through his social media pages, confirmed that he had already recorded a statement with the local Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
He stated,”To this end, it is paramount to report that the unfortunate death of Maloba did not take place at the venue of my meeting, neither did he attend the meeting as purported by a section of social media users.”
“I have this afternoon recorded a statement with the Criminal Investigation Department for further urgent investigations into the matter,” he added.
He Eulogized Maloba as a friend and colleague who was ready to serve and help his people. He further stated his wish is for the perpetrators to be found and prosecuted accordingly.
He stated,”My heart goes out to his immediate family, friends and the people of Khwisero for losing a great leader with whom I worked very closely.”
Maloba’s untimely death happened today, Saturday where there was a fight at a certain public meeting. His passing on was confirmed and announced by Kakamega deputy governor, Ayub Savula.
Savula stated,”We would like to stay here longer, but we can’t. Apologies for that. An MCA has just passed away in Khwisero Constituency.He was stabbed after a confrontation ensued between two camps, his and that of an MP.”
An official statement has not however, been released by the national police service.
