We need to know what is happening- Gatundu North residents hold demos over unfinished road project.
Gatundu North residents have taken it to the streets to decry the the poor state of the Thika-Magumu road.
They lit fires and barricaded the road with rocks blocking vehicles from accessing the road. The residents complained that due to the heavy rains, their businesses have been affected and in case of an emergency, one cannot easily be helped.
They called out the area member of parliament, Njoroge for deserting them and not following up on the contractor who was working on the road.
They stated,”We are urging the local leadership to push for the road to be repaired or we will continue to protest.”
“The Construction works began in August 2020, with the project set for completion in December 2021, and to date, nothing has been done, we need to know what is happening or what happened for the project to stop,” they lamented.
