Civil servants risk mass retrenchment; Addressing the media, Prime cabinet secretary, Musalia mudavadi stated that those parastatals that are not doing well, will be merged with state corporations.
He stated,”At the Induction of Board Members of State Corporations in Naivasha, I challenged them that their appointment does not give them a latitude to play politics or siphon from state corporations, and the board is not a retirement home.”
“They have an urgent duty to turn things into profitability, or otherwise, the hammer of privatization will be knocking at their doors. There will be no room for laxity, and the era of “Waziri amesema”(The minister has said) is over,” he added.
He also outlined economic plan of the government, commonly referred to as the Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BeTA), which is the guiding economic principle of the government.
He expressed,”State Corporations’ Boards have a duty to urgently support the government in the economic resuscitation under the Kenya Kwanza Bottom-Up Transformation Agenda (BeTA).”
He further challenged the new appointees into the government, saying that their entry into the government does not allow them to play politics or corruption.
He stated,” At the Induction of Board Members of State Corporations in Naivasha, I challenged them that their appointment does not give them a latitude to play politics or siphon from State Corporations, and the Board is not a retirement home.”
”They have to cultivate the culture of the Kenya Kwanza Government; pursuit of excellence guided by the Principles and Values of Professionalism, Integrity, Loyalty, Positive Work Ethics, Results Productivity and Discipline.”
