I will not tire in working for the benefit of your health-Sakaja on Mama Lucy hospital crisis.
Nairobi county governor, Johnson Sakaja stated that he has reached out to the family of the woman wbo lost her baby, while trying to access the gates of Mama Lucy hospital.
The governor expressed that his top agenda is the health care of his people in Nairobi and no one will come in the way of that.
He stated,” I have spoken to the lady (name withheld for patient privacy) who lost her baby at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and her family and offered my heartfelt condolences and support.
“In as much as there have been several notable improvements at Mama Lucy, a lot remains to be done. I will not tire in working for the benefit of your health and will not let anyone come in the way of that,” he added.
He further stated that he had made several changes in the hospital,
He stated,” Consequently I have made changes to the entire leadership of the hospital even as we continue to work on improvements. Nairobians deserve dignity and care. It will work.”
Sakaja’s statement and disband of Mama Lucy hospital board, came after uproar on Negligence of a woman who was in active labor.
The statement from the hospital read,”The Ultrasound scan results came back revealing that the patient had experienced an IntraUterine Foetal Death (IUFD) at 38 weeks and 5 days.”
“At 7:20 pm, the patient who was already in labour delivered a macerated (shows skin and soft tissue changes- skin discoloration/darkening, redness, peeling and breakdown) stillbirth male infant with a birth weight of 2,600 grams.”
“The medical team showed the patient the baby and informed her that the baby had passed away 2-3 days before delivery and her visit to the hospital.”
