We need to brace ourselves for tougher times- Mudavadi urges Kenyans.
Prime cabinet secretary, Musalia Mudavadi has urged Kenyans to tighten their seatbelts because, it won’t be a ride in the park in the next few months.
Speaking at the official opening and dedication of Friends Quakers Church Donholm, Nairobi, Musalia stated that in as much as Kenya kwanza will fulfill its manifesto, there are tougher times ahead.
He pleaded for patience from Kenyans, citing that it takes a lot of time to turn a country that was on the verge of an economic shutdown, back to its normal and accommodating state.
He stated,”Kenyans should understand and be wary of the fact that turning around the economy takes time. It is not going to be like instant coffee. We need to brace ourselves for tougher times, but there is hope. It is going to be tough before it gets better.”
“The President has got a mammoth task to turn around the economy. This can only be achieved through prayer, sacrifice, consistency and commitment,” he added.
Musalia Mudavadi highlighted that Kenya kwanza coalition has a plan for Kenyans and this should not be distracted by side shows that are currently going on.
He stated,” As Kenyans, let nobody try to distract the Presidents’ focus. Let him work on resuscitating the economy.“
Mudavadi was also accompanied by President William Ruto who outlined a mandatory deduction of salaries from civil servants.
