Father implicates police in Mackenzie case.
Father implicates police in Mackenzie case; Benson Mutimba detailed that all this tragedy and massacre would have been avoided if the police had listened to him and dealt with the controversial preacher earlier.
Mutimba narrates the kind of frustration he faced, when he tried to pull out his children from Mackenzie’s cultic church.
He narrated,”One day my son told me that he went to a crusade in Mombasa and Mackenzie asked him to join his church. The pastor brainwashed him by telling him to drop out of school and burn all documents except his birth certificate which he was supposed to take to him.”
Mr. Mutimba’s son afterwards burned all his academic materials and indefinitely deferred from Kibabii University where he was pursuing his undergraduate studies, took his brothers and fled.
Mr. Mutimba on seeing this, decided to report the preacher to the police, on accusations of brainwash on the son.
Unbeknowest to him, things will be twisted and all the accusations will be turned on him.
He stated,”After dropping out of school, the boy took three of his young brothers and fled to Kilifi. I made a report to the police and the pastor was arrested. But immediately after he appeared at the police station, things turned against me.”
“The police officers asked me if I had the birth certificates of the children. When I told them that Mackenzie took them, they accused me of trying to steal children from the pastor,”he added.
After a back and forth activity with the police, Mr. Mutimba Managed to rescued two of his four children but one died shortly after due to hunger.
He decried that his family would have been whole, if the police would have been quick with the matter.
