Speaking through the media, KDF stated that the letter indicating that Major General Jeff Nyagah had resigned was false and misleading.
They highlighted that major general Nyagah did not resign but term ended while in service in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
KDF stated,”Be informed that President William Ruto, has today on the advice of the Defence Council upheld among other recommendations the appointment of Maj Gen Jeff Mungai Nyagah as the General Officer Commanding Western Command (GOC WESTCOM) after a successful 6-month tour as the first Force Commander, East Africa Community Regional Force (FC EACRF) -DRC.”
“Maj Gen Alphaxard Muthuri Kiugu is the newly appointed FC EACRF – DRC to replace Maj Gen Jeff Nyagah,” they announced.
Notably, Yesterday, President William Ruto made changes in the police force, where he promoted Jeff Nyagah and Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla appointed as the new chief of defence forces.
The statement read,”General Francis Omondi Ogolla replaces General Robert Kariuki Kibochi whose term of service has honorably come to an end after 44 years of an illustrious military career.”
The commander in chief also promoted Lt. Gen. Jonah Mwangi as the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Brigadier David Kipkemboi Keter, promoted to Major General and appointed Assistant Chief of the Defence Forces Personnel and Logistics.
Major General Said Farah took over as the new Vice-Chancellor of the national defence university.
