Either a Parliamentary process or demonstrations- DP Gachagua maintains.
Speaking at celebrations of 25 years in music of Muigai wa Njoroge in Thika, Kiambu County, The second in command stated that the opposition cannot have both sides of the coin.
He highlighted that the government is ready to do the bipartisan talks or Raila can go ahead and demonstrate like he has threatened, but never will he have both.
He stated,”Our MPs can only engage their counterparts from Azimio for the Bipartisan Parliamentary discussions when there are no demonstrations. It is either a Parliamentary process or demonstrations. You cannot have the two.”
Gachagua further expressed the executive will not bend because of threats and that the opposition is free to demonstrate if that’s what they want.
Gachagua stated,”You are free to go for demonstrations on Tuesday and make as much noise as you wish. But there should be no destruction of property of other Kenyans.”
This comes after Azimio la umoja principal, Raila Odinga declared that the protests will resume on Tuesday alongside bi-partisan talks, which were proposed then by the head of state, William Ruto.”
The opposition, had earlier demanded a fresh handpicking of the Kenya Kwanza legislators who will engage their counterparts in the proposed bi-partisan.
They maintained that they have a number of issues including reducing the cost of living and reconstituting of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission that they want discussed, if at all they are to move forward politically.
