The televangelist had applied for reopening of his New life church, which was closed down by the police upon his arrest.
Pastor Ezekiel accused the stated of trying to frustrate his ministry and denying his followers the freedom of worship.
He further asked the state to stop the freeze on his accounts which are used to run his ministry, and also complained of the suspension of his TV station.
He stated,”Unless this court intervenes, the respondents will continue issuing illegal directives to not only frustrate the applicant herein but also threaten the very existence of New Life Prayer Center and Church and the projects currently underway.”
“Though the allegations against the applicant are unsubstantiated, scandalous and untrue, there has been an increasing extra-judicial interference by the respondents who currently threaten to freeze the church bank accounts, and to unreasonably deny the applicant and his congregation his freedom to religion as decreed under the Constitution,” the court papers read.
