Lawmaker Salasya attacked as Members of county Assembly disrupted a funeral session in Khwisero.
The member of parliament stated that the MCAs grabbed the microphone and decided to chase him away from the event.
He commended his security team for acting swiftly and rescuing him from the fracas. He cited that the ward representatives did not any Member of Parliament to address the mourners for reasons that are unknown to Salasya.
He stated,”When I stood to speak, they attacked me and grabbed the microphone. Fortunately, my team saved me, and also Karate skills I gained since joining Parliament came in handy.”
According to preliminary reports, The members of county Assembly, pointed fingers to the MPs in the region for not condemning the incident where Maloba was stabbed in a rally at Khwisero and died on his way to the hospital.
Among the politicians who graced the event included United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Secretary-General Cleophas Malala, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa, and Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula.
Others who were in attendance include; ODM deputy party leader Wycliffe Oparanya, Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, Democratic Action Party leader Eugene Wamalwa and Siaya Governor James Orengo who represented Azimiola umoja leader, Raila Odinga.
