It is me who came to pay that money- Ruto reveals 200B Last regime debt.
While speaking to the media, the head of revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta, left a huge debr of ksh. 200 billion.
Upon taking over, President Ruto discoveres that the Sh200 billion borrowed money was not disclosed in the budget that was approved by Parliament.
He highlighted that now, they have been forced to repay this loan, that was not even accounted for.
He stated,”It is me who came to pay that money,” he said at State House during a joint interview with the media.”
He elaborated that it is critical, the National Assembly approves the finance bill. He argued that every Kenyan should participate in off setting this loan.
He stated,”If parliament passes the budget the way it is, I will live to the way I have committed to reducing the budget deficit to 4.4 from 5.7 of GDP.”
“We want everybody to carry the tax but we have reduced tax on building materials and pharmaceutical,” he added.
The head of state further argued that he is not overtaxing any Kenyan as everyone as put it across, in fact he has been so considerate to every Kenyan.
He stated,”We are better off building our own resources and be honest, we are not overtaxing ourselves, we are at 15 per cent of GDP.”
The head of tax also explained how this increase of taxes will in turn benefit each and every Kenyan.
