Allow Kenyans to make decisions of their own- Raila tells off U.S ambassador Meg Whitman.
Azimio la umoja leader, Raila Odinga has told off the International community over statements they are making on Kenya and its political theatrics.
He stated that The United states ambassador, Meg Whitman, was in Kenya for a few days but she concluded that the August 2022 elections were free and fair without taking into account that the electoral officials has disagreed on the polls.
Raila stated,”I don’t know which country she was talking about. She had just been here a few days to the election.”
“If this happened in the United States or Europe could that be considered democratic, will the elections be considered transparent? He posed.
He also called out diplomats, for taking sides regarding the protests. He stated that it is not right for them to put development ahead of democracy.
He stated,”You cannot put development ahead of democracy. Democracy must precede development. That’s why we are surprised to see these diplomats turning a blind eye to this. Most of them have the audacity to misrepresent facts about our country.”
He further called upon the international community to leave Kenyans to their matters.
Raila also demanded that servers should be opened for scrutiny to be done again and Kenyans to ascertain the presidential polls.
He stated,”Kenyans have a right in the light of now the information that has emerged that put to question the results announced by the minority of electoral commission and this is how democracy is built.”
“Allow Kenyans to make decisions of their own. We will demand that the servers be opened to interrogate results, and ensure that all the four electoral commissioners are reinstated,” he added.
