Details reveal professional hitmen killed the US couple in Nyamira county.
Masaba North Sub-county Police Commander, Robert Ndambili, has stated that key leads are pointing to a land tussle as the motive behind the murders. It is believed that the couple similarly lost their nephew in 2021.
At the time when they were found, The late Edwards and Sarah’s hands were tied to the back using a wire, and their throats slit, the killers left no traces behind including key CCTV footages.
The above details reveal professional hitmen could have been the one who executed the murder.
According to the house helps account, the couple received a visitor that evening, unknown to the house help.
The househelp states that the engagements between the couple and the visitor indicated they were familiar with each other.
Police suspected the guest was among the hitmen who committed the murder and was on a reconnaissance.
Ndambili stated,” We are engaging higher mechanisms of rounding them up. This will take sometime.”
The police have also questioned how the househelp could not hear the murder being executed yet he was in the same house.
Police stated,”It is unbelievable that the house help and farmboy were present in the compound when the murder was happening, and yet they could not tell something was going on wrong.”
Apparently, the househelp woke up and continued with normal house chores until the couple’s grandson, Samuel Matundura, at 10 am, came around to question why his grandparents were unreachable on the phone.
Matundura stated,“We had talked, and we agreed to meet. He had been in Western Kenya for some construction activities and had just returned home.”
“So I wanted to know how they were doing,” Mutandura stated after he rushed to check on his grandparents,” he added.
