Don’t be swayed by the opposition; National assembly speaker, Moses Wetangula has urged his people from Western to remain loyal to the president, William Ruto.
Speaking when he presided over a funds drive at St. Patrick Sisokhe Catholic Church in Navakholo Constituency, Kakamega County, Wetangula highlighted that the region is fully covered by the government and all the years they have yearned for meaningful development, have finally knocked on their doors.
He called upon leaders from western, to unite and put the interests of Western people in front, for the region to grow.
He stated,”When we come together as a community our strength is felt, our bargaining power is stronger and our development is visible. I salute our members of parliament for the unity that they are demonstrating of late by coming together for the community’s sake.”
The speaker, Wetangula further revealed that he has underway plans to meet leaders across western, to discuss the political future of the region.
He stated,”I also like to thank our MCAs across all our western region’s counties for being our able grassroots foot soldiers who champion our region’s unity. Being together is a good beginning, walking together is progress and sticking together is great success.”
Separately, defending the economic situation of the country, Wetangula stated that they are working to ensure their manifesto comes to live.
He pointed fingers stating that the mess was created in the former regime where they inherited a lot of debt.
He stated,”We took over a government that had huge debts. As a country we are currently experiencing the worst drought in many years since 1986 and has adversely affected farming, livestock and the wildlife in our parks hence pausing a challenge in uplifting the economy.”

He further warned them against participating in the mass action or demonstrations, that were launchef by the opposition all over the country
