Director of public prosecution, DPP withdraws 19M graft case against Aisha Jumwa.
Earlier, the former Malindi member of parliament was being charged alongside seven others for committing fraud.
It was alleged that Aisha together with the Co- accused paid a total of 19M to a company.
A warrant of arrest was issued to Aisha Jumwa, However, her lawyer pleaded with the court to suspend the arrest warrant because of her health condition.
The lawyer stated,”We pray for suspension of the warrant of arrest until August 23 when the case will be coming up for mention.”
The magistrate in his ruling stated that the case will be heard virtually on the 23rd August 2022.
However, the DPP recently withdrew the charges. This comes after president William Ruto nominated Aisha Jumwa, as the Public Service and Gender cabinet secretary.
