Every Kenyan pays tax- Raila hits back at Gachagua over preferential treatment for supporters.
In his rally at Kitui today, Azimio la umoja leader faulted deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua over the remarks he made on Sunday.
The second in command stated that Kenya is like a big company and those with majority of the shares will be more favored than those with minor shares.
He added that those who voted in Kenya kwanza, will get served first then the rest will come in later.
This remarks did not sit will with the opposition, who argued that every Kenyan pays tax meaning no one is entitled to preferential treatment more than the other.
Raila added that such comments should not be taken lightly by Kenyans because the government wants to be tribal; he argued this on the basis that President William Ruto used to pick his cabinet and principal secretaries.
Raila stated,”There is a man who is said to be the DP, who said that the government is like a company with shares and those who voted for the government will get priority in the government.”
“It was not just a joke because it is evident in the Cabinet and principal secretaries’ appointments. Those individuals want to divide our country on a tribal basis,” he added.
Additionally, Raila reminded Kenyans that they have the right to government resources regardless of their political afiliation.
He stated,”Every Kenyan pays tax. They collect money from all parts of the country yet when it comes to sharing and jobs, they become discriminative and this is not right.”
