Four suspects including wife, arrested following the murder Hewitt Peter John, Australian citizen of 67 years in Bungoma county.
According to reports from Ndakaru village, Kanduyi constituency Bungoma County, unknown thugs invaded Hewitt’s house and took his life.
A little back ground history; Hewitt married a Kenyan lady Lilian Mikasia, 33, who stays in Kanduyi, Bungoma.
According to a neighbor by the name Edward Makechi, at around 8 pm, he heard a commotion at Hewitt’s house.
His attempts to check what could be the issue, were in futile because of the scary dogs that are in Hewitt’s compounds.
The neighbor detailed,” I was at my home having supper. I heard a commotion at the deceased’s place. I immediately alerted other neighbours to come so that we could storm his residence and check what was really happening.”
“I heard Hewitt shout “don’t kill me! don’t kill me!”
He stated that moments later, when a crowd gathered at Hewitt’s residence, a pool of blood with Hewitt having multiple injuries on the face, head, hands and legs.
Edward reported that Hewitt and his wife, have been having daily quarrels and wrangles.
He stated,”Sometimes it is hard to reach their home and cool down the daily wrangles.”
Confirming the incident was Bungoma County police commander Francis Kooli, who called on couples to look for amicable ways to solve their problems.
He condemned the incident and affirmed that probe into the matter has started. So far, the police have located motorbikes that were used in the alleged inhumane murder.
Francis stated,”Immediately we received the report from both the area chief and members of the public, the police went to the scene of the crime. They camped there and were able to arrest four suspects.”
Body of the deceased is currently lying at Bungoma county referral hospital mortuary pending autopsy.
