Relief as the higher education loans board announces scholarships of 450k for post graduates in masters and PHD. The scholarships will cater for both private and public universities.
The higher education loans board is a body that finances student during their academic years. it is known for funding undergraduates in both private and public universities , polytechnics and other tertiary/ technical institutions.
Depending on the information the applicant provided, the Higher education loans board gives loans according to someone’s need.
The Helb loans caters for both the school fees and other miscellaneous needs of the students.
In accordance to a statement from the board, the masters students will receive ksh.200,000 which will be valid for 3 years and ksh.450, 000 for PHD students, valid for 2 years.
For application, the applicants are required to pay a non- refundable fee of ksh.3000 on the HELB site portal. The statement also warns the applicants on paying an individual for application purposes.
Eligibility
The requirement for scholarship is second class honors, upper division. The applicant will present a letter of admission to the post graduate university whether full or part time program.
Post graduates pursuing STEM IF science, technology, Engineering, mathematics, innovation and fisheries will also be considered.
How to apply
After registering, students should visit the student portal in order to have access to the HELB postgraduate Scholarship application form . Fill out the form and click submit. Download and then print the Post Graduate scholarship Application form(PGSA).
Make sure the Post Graduate scholarship application form is signed properly as directed, by the relevant authorities, attach all the required documents as the instructions state. Scan the completely filled PGSA and the attachments into one document.
