I have resigned from my position at UDA- Vice Chair Seth Panyako.
Speaking in Kakamega County during the funeral of a former politician, Joseph Hamisi, UDA’s Vice Chair Seth Panyako indicated that he was resigning from the party.
This comes after he could not come into terms with president Ruto’s proposed Housing Fund. He stated that most Kenyans are already struggling and more levies would be a load on their back.
He stated,” I talked to the President at 7 pm and it seemed that I could not continue with my role given my opposition to the housing fund and the high cost of living. Therefore, on behalf of my late friend. I want to announce that I have resigned from my position at UDA.”
He highlighted that the cost of Living has become unbearable, which is contrary to the promises, Kenya kwanza made to Kenyans during the campaign period.
He stated,” I have decided to stick with Kenyans because, during the campaigns, we used to say kazi ni kazi, pesa mfukoni. Now they are saying, Kazi ni kazi, pesa kwa serikali.”
He questioned on why the government wants to put this load on Kenyans yet they are in a position to pool resources that can facilitate the housing project.
He stated,”The government must be creative enough to have the resources to do this housing project. Why can’t they use the funds that are already available to do this? This housing project is cheap.”
