I implore all parties to address any differences peacefully – Ruto on Sudan crisis.
The president has raised concerns on the Sudan crisis, he stated that all aggrieved could find a peaceful way to deal with the crisis instead of causing ambush.
The head of state decried that this outbreak of violence will be detrimental to the long lasting peace that Sudan has enjoyed
He stated,”Kenya is concerned about the developing crisis in Sudan. I implore all parties to address any differences through peaceful means for the sake of the security of the people of Sudan and stability in the country and the region, especially during this Holy month of Ramadan.”
“The outbreak of violence will only reverse the gains Sudan has made to the detriment of its lasting peace and prosperity,” he added.
The president further highlighted that the country is ready to help the country Sudan find an amicable way to bring peace.
He stated,”Kenya and the IGAD States are available and ready to contribute to the resolution of this crisis. I am consulting with the regional leadership and other relevant international partners to seek ways to support dialogue and mediation.”
A power struggle between Sudan’s army and a notorious paramilitary force has broken in the country, with more than 50 civilians reported dead.
At least 56 civilians have been killed in cities and regions around the country, a Sudanese doctors’ committee said, adding that dozens of military personnel were dead, some of whom had been treated in hospitals. According to reports, at least 595 people had been injured.”
