I was not allowed to come to Tanzania because of a red alert- Wajackoyah.
Roots party leader, Goerge Wajackoyah has revealed that a red alert was issued against him in Tanzania.
Wajackoyah stated that he was temporarily blocked from gaining access to the country headed by President Samia Suluhu.
He added that the country breached his rights by detaining him without telling him exactly why the red alerts were put up.
He stated,”If any citizen has been stopped from entering the country, he needs to be informed in advance.”
“They breached my rights when they put the caveat and failed to inform me (in time),” he added.
At a rally yesterday, the roots party leader narrated the trouble he faced in Tanzania, he was detained but released shortly after that.
He stated,”When I came to the airport yesterday, I was told to follow some officials and I saw that the atmosphere had changed. I knew something was wrong somewhere as I was not allowed to come to Tanzania because of a red alert.”
“ I looked like a criminal. Later on, I was released,” he added.
Attempts to reach out to Kenya High Commission in Tanzania were in vain; they did not respond to queries on the red alert.
