I was not fired by anyone- Raila clarifies.
Azimio la umoja leader, has clarified amid rumors that he was fired from AU. There were speculations that because Raila is anti- government, the union needed to let him go.
In the letter by AU chair Faki, it read,”The transformation of the NEPAD Agency to the African Union Development Agency has now been completed, with a full mandate to implement the Continental agenda on infrastructure.”
“Your role in this journey, Excellency, has been invaluable. Allow me to express my profound gratitude for accepting to serve in this role during the transition period, which has now come to a happy conclusion,” read part of the letter.
However, in his interview today at KTN, the opposition leader stated that there was a lot of work that needed to be done in the country.
He additionally stated that the whole traveling between countries was too much for him, since he is currently focused on the matters of Kenya.
He added that he personally spoke to spoke with African Union Commission President Moussa Faki and told him of his intention to quit.
He stated,” I was not fired by anyone, there was a lot of work there. There was a lot of work in Kenya and outside. It was a lot for me to travel around the countries all the time.”
Raila was the working in the infrastructure department before His job at AU ended.
