I win elections because I serve Kenyan workers best- Atwoli tells off Kabando.
In a tweet, Former Mukurweini member of parliament Kabando wa Kabando questioned Francis Atwoli’s leadership in Central organization of trade unions( COTU).
He stated that Atwoli does not care about the plight of workers. Further highlighted that Workers do not feel COTU’s intervention in coming through for them.
This comes after a law maker, Opiyo Wandayi, threw tantrums saying that salaries have been delayed for a section of civil workers.
Kabando stated,”Omwami, we forget it? You are at the helm of Kenya’s and Africa’s trade unions.”
“You have been a close ally of all of Kenya’s 3 immediate former presidents, and now you’ve pinned Ruto. If comrades are sincere to you, they’d tell you that Kenya workers don’t feel Cotu interventions,” he added.
In a reply, Atwoli told off the former lawmaker, Kabando saying he doesn’t need to question his leadership, Workers know he serves really well, that’s why he is always their choice.
He further called on Kabando for not belonging to any trade union and he knows these unions promote unity.
He stated,”First, Cotu has always called for unity within the country and in the continent. That’s why I serve as the president of Cotu. Second, you have never been a member of any trade union. I survive elections. Unlike you, I win elections because I serve Kenyan workers in unions.”
