ICC suspect lawyer Gicheru found dead in his home.
ICC suspect lawyer Gicheru has passed on. He was found dead in his house at Karen on Monday night.
The police have said that the cause of his sudden death is not yet established since he was well before death.
Police said,”He had late lunch and felt unwell and went to bed but he did not wake up.”
The police further reported that he was discovered unresponsive, around 7pm.
His son who was shocked by the news, collapsed and rushed to Karen hospital but he is now in a stable condition.
“His son too collapsed and was taken to Karen hospital in stable condition,” police added.
Gicheru surrendered to the ICC on November 2, 2020, this is after he was issued an arrest warrant on March 10, 2015, by Pre-Trial Chamber II of the ICC.
The lawyer, Gicheru was accused of committing offence in the administration of justice.
Gicheru apparently coerced witnesses in court. He allegedly bribed witnesses to either lie in front of the court or refuse to testify.
According to the prosecution, Lawyer Gicheru offered bribes and other inducements, in exchange for withdrawal as witnesses or recantation of their prior statements to the prosecution.
The case was the humanity case that faced President William Ruto and former journalist Joshua Sang.

However, in April 2016, the cases against president William Ruto and Joshua Sang were didmissed.
Gicheru’s trial opened on February 15, he however pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
