Siaya County governor James Orengo breathes fire at Magoha’s funeral. In his speech, Orengo recognized the former president as the only one who left a legacy in Kenya.
He also stated that some of the projects in Ruto’s manifesto for example affordable housing, were started by former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Additionally, Orengo stated that yes the people of Kenya are living as citizens but in reality, they are just taxpayers.
He stated,”Uhuru Kenyatta has left a legacy, a very important one. We must live in this land knowing that we are citizens of Kenya, we must live as taxpayers.”
The Siaya head further warned that due to the political weather in Kenya, He is afraid that multipartism might end in Kenya.
He stated,”Former President Uhuru Kenyatta left a legacy. I have never heard those who were talking about Uhuru Kenyatta criticize affordable housing.
“Affordable housing is soon coming to Siaya because it’s entrenched in the Constitution. We must live as taxpayers…let’s not kill those who founded this nation, from the route we are taking we might kill multiparty but that is a conversation for another day,” he added.
His sentiments have raised reactions from netizens.
Abuga Makori wrote,”James Orengo is a good orator. He is very smart on mic. At Yala, he was the Orengo of 80s and 90s. The oratory skills were on top. He sounded the Orengo who sneaked to Gusii stadium in 1990s on a bike and evaded the police who were looking for him. Viva.”
The government critic wrote,”President Uhuru Kenyatta was the only man to end tribalism in Kenya. If Raila Odinga won the elections, the existing enmity between Kikuyus and Luos would not have been there.But The Man of God decided Kenya should remain divided so that he rules.”
