Reports have indicated that the Azimio la Umoja ally has dropped his bid because of fear of being humiliated in the election that is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 8th.
In addition, Wiper party stated that, Azimio la Umoja is likely to be outnumbered in the elections by Kenya kwanza, in both the national assembly and the senate.
Wiper party has stated that Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka will focus on rebranding and propelling his party forward since his presidential candidate of choice lost the elections.
On monday, reports indicated that Wetangula, Kalonzo set to battle National Assembly speaker post together with others interested the national assembly picked up their nomination papers at parliament.
However, Azimio la Umoja coalition led by Raila Odinga endorsed the former national assembly speaker, Kenneth Marende for the post.
They stated that Marende has been there before, and will be the best candidate for the post.
Azimio said,”As Azimio coalition, we have decided to front Marende as our candidate for the National Assembly Speaker. We have decided to go for someone who has been tried and tested, someone who understands the operations of Parliament.”
On the other hand, Bungoma senator elect, Moses Wetangula confirmed that he has resigned his senatorial seat to join in the race for the speaker post.
He stated that he is ready to be the third in command as he was promised by Kenya kwanza upon garnering votes for them, from Western Kenya.
