Kenya kwanza government to address historical injustices; stated deputy president Gachagua at Koitalel’s 117 memorial service.
Hon Gachagua added that the government will make sure, Kenyans facing land tussles and other injustices are served justice.
“The new government is keen to move away from the culture of inflicting pain and suffering on innocent citizens,” Stated DP Gachagua.
We have the moral duty and obligation to hand to the next generation a greater nation than we received,”he added.
Gachagua went ahead to laud the late Koitalel Samoei for the work he did in fighting for the Nandi community.
DP Gachagua stated,”We meet here to celebrate a great man who lived and believed in freedom and in the future of the Nandi people and in the greater good of his people.”
In attendance was the Uasin Gishu county senator, Jackson Mandago, who stated that people from the Rift have a lot of land and historical issues, that can be solved by the new government.
Mandago said,”We have lot of historical issues that need be addressed and we need your support.”
Koitalel Samoei was killed and his head chopped off in Britain in the year 1905. A quest that Nandi elders raised after the death of Queen Elizabeth saying they want Koitalel’s head back.
