Kenyan creatives such as Azziad, Churchill among others secure government jobs.
Popular Kenyan creatives such as Azziad Nasenya, Churchill Ndambuki and many others, will serve at the Kenya kwanza government.
According to a gazette notice from the sports cabinet secretary, the media personality will serve as the Creatives Technical Committee.
The committee will be chaired by reknown comedian, Churchill Ndambuki for a period of three years.
Other creatives include; Akinyi Odongo, Jimmi Gathu, Esther ‘Akothee’ Akoth, Kizito Makhande, Rosemary Wahu Kagwi, Awadhi Salim Awadhi, Douglas Kipkirui, and Langat Susan Ekasiba.
The notice read,” The role of the committee will be to propose reliable systems for the seamless and accountable collection and distribution of royalties to all creatives.”
“Additionally, propose implementation framework for the creative economy plan,”added the notice.
The team will also be required to develop special award for the creative industry named the National Creatives Awards, alias Kenyan Grammys.
The team will also act as an advisory reference for the government in order for them to upgrade and even reach international standards.
He stated,”This creative committee shall also deploy the digital space in talent search, identification, nurturing and exposure.”
“Establish a robust framework to monetize the creatives sector to expand employment opportunities and support Kenya’s economic growth,” the notice added.
Media personalities and other social media influencers have expressed the government for finally recognizing them.
The appointments also came in handy, considering the fact that the world is slowly moving into the digital space.
