Kiagu ward MCA explains why he did not vote for Kawira’s impeachment, making him the only member of county assembly who vote a NO.
On tuesday, 22nd , Abogeta West Ward MCA Dennis Kiogora drafted a motion to impeach the county head. A motion that was passed by 68 out of 69 MCAs.
Kiogora stated,”The governor’s continued stay in office under the prevailing toxic environment will inevitably undermine effective and efficient service delivery to the people of Meru.”
However, Kiagu ward MCA, Simon Kiamba did not side with his fellow ward heads, stating the his ward residents did not see it fit, to remove Kawira from power.
Kiagu said,”did not pass the motion since my people from Kiagu ward did not agree with impeaching the governor.”
Additionally , he accused other MCAs of trying to coerce his stance. He stated that the ward heads could be using this energy to fuel the projects they promised Meru people.
He stated,”Let my colleagues serve the people with the same energy they used to ask for votes. Deliver bursaries to your people.”
