The Kenya national examination council, KNEC announces training opportunities for KCSE examiners.
According to the CEO, David Njeng’ere, the training will begin on Monday, April 24, upto Friday, April 28, 2023.
However, The council highlighted that this year’s training sessions will be entirely residential and also the venue for the training will be communicated to the qualified applicants at a later date.
We read,”The training fee is Ksh10,500 and will only be paid by the shortlisted applicants who will be notified through a text message (SMS) on how to make the payment.”
KNEC also stated that the successful trainees will be incorporated into the KNEC examiners’ database and engaged by the agency through its criteria for recruiting examiners based on each paper’s personnel needs.
However, teachers trained as KNEC examiners, should not participate in the application, since their names are already in the data base.
The teachers are expected to train as examiners in the following KCSE papers; English (codes 101/1, 101/2, and 101/3), Biology (codes 231/1, 231/2, and 231/3), and Chemistry (codes 233/2 and 233/3).
Additionally; History and Government (codes 311/1, and 311/2), Christian Religious Education (codes 313/1, and 313/2), and Computer Studies (codes 451/1, and 451/2).
Requirements.
Must be a practising teacher in the relevant subject area at the level of examination and be registered and employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
Have a Diploma in Education (and above) for KCSE marking and must have been teaching for more than 3 years.
Must not be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action from the TSC.
One must be below 50 years of age and be recommended by their headteachers to take part in the training.
Application process
Go to the KNEC website portal
www(dot)examinersapp(dot)knec(dot)ac(dot)ke.
Teachers with Cp2 accounts should log into the portal using their usernames and passwords.
If by chance you’ve forgotten your password, click on the reset password button, enter your mobile number in the format (2547********), and submit to get new passwords for logging into the system.
Those without Cp2 accounts should click on create an account and follow instructions
Upon successful login, on the dashboard, click on apply for training
