Kenya national examinations council, KNEC issues new guidelines on KCPE and KCSE 2023 registration; In a statement on released on Monday, the examinations council dictated that candidates are supposed to register their names, in the order in which they are documented in their birth certificates.
Additionally, the gender and year of birth must be clearly indicated before pointing the subjects they are registered for.
If the candidate has a disability, he or she is required to indicate the kind of disability they have be it visual, physical or hearing.
The registration began on Feb 1 and will be on till march, no late registration will be tolerated from any student.
According to the KNEC chief executive officer, school Headteachers and principals are advised to fill in the forms for the candidates, to avoid errors.
Additionally, no candidate will be allowed or excuses to sit for the national examinations if they did not register for it.
He stated,”Registration of candidates is the first step towards administering an exam. Every centre has two months to make sure that all the candidates are registered.”
The 2023 school calendar stipulates that examinations will run from November 6, 2023, and November 9, 2023 for KCPE candidates, while KCSE candidates will write their papers between November 10 and December 1.
