Let people not fool you here, issues in that bill go against the constitution- Omtatah to Ruto.
Speaking at the interdenominational prayer service at Busia Stadium where president Ruto was in attendance, Okiya Omtatah issued a caution to the head of state.
Omtatah stated that most of the proposed issues in the finance bill the President William Ruto are contrary to the constitution of Kenya.
He warned the head of state not to fall for the words of Liars or venture into the path of deception because of a finance bill.
In his opinion, Okiya Omtatah highlighted that Kenyans do not need that finance bill, the bad outweighs the good.
He stated,”The Finance Bill has both good and bad things therein. Let not these people here lie to you that everything is fine. The negative things therein, many go against the constitution.”
“Let people not fool you here, let people not deceive you. There are issues in that bill where event the supreme court has pronounced itself that ought to be honoured,”he added.
Okiya revealed that after he read the finance bill, he thought of filling a petition against it, but since the president is in Busia, he decided to address him directly.
He stated,”You are my friend Mr President but the Constitution is a bigger friend to me. I plead with you, I have already prepared a petition to go to court. But when I heard you were coming to Busia I did not file it last week. I held on. I pray that we relook at this Bill. If we can avoid fighting in court it would be good as it is bad for friends to fight.”
