Mixed reactions on the PS list as Kenyans call out on tribalism.
The principal secretaries list that was unveiled yesterday has struck a huge debate on social media.
According to the list of the 51 principal secretaries; 13 hail from Rift valley, 13 from central, 6 from western, 4 from eastern, 8 Somali, 2 from Nyanza, 1 pokot, 1 Masaai, 1Meru, 1 coast , 1 Turkana.
A series of Mixed reactions on the PS list has been witnessed, with Kenyans hinting at partiality and tribalism in distribution of opportunities.
Some of the comments on twitter were;
Dr. Julius Muiruri said,”When you refused to vote, you voted in what we voters for Raila were against. You voted Corruption, you voted poverty, you voted for non independence of independence bodies, you voted against democracy, you voted tribalism, you voted for non competence, you voted poor leadership.”
Just Kenyan1 tweeted,”This man Belio Kipsang wasimhesabu kwa tribalism…is the true definition of resilience and pure work(no politics/sideshows)..how he manages to survive all these governments is amazing.”
Obyno Sicily tweeted,”Unfortunately, the no. of people embezzling Nigeria’s fortunes are less than 2000 people but over 150Million people are protecting them based on Party loyalty, tribalism&religious fanatism instead of asking pertinent questions. So sad.”
DAP- K party tweeted,”Since independence, Kenya has been ruled by two tribes Kalenjins & Kikuyus while the rest have been left to beg na salivate. This has led to imbalanced development,representation & nepotism. It was hoped that the 2010 constitution will bring change, unfortunately not.”
WMM tweeted,”Some people are complaining about tribalism when an entire tribe supports only one person for the last 50 years and boasts of being loyal to their kingpin and nobody ever points an accusing finger. The other kingpin was hunted even at night to deliver his tribe to kuzimia.”
Abuga Makori tweeted,”Tribalism now controls Kenya. President William Ruto is doing well. Kenya is a nation of two tribes. We are either Kikuyus or Kalenjins.”
Ja loka tweeted,”In a country that is ethnically polarized, led by a God-fearing prophet, Nabii Ruto should be the last person to practice tribalism in government appointments. The blood of ethnicity seem not to care whether one is born-again or a chronic drunkard from the dynasty. Kiawa!”
