President Ruto’s plan revealed as KDF and police fail to work in synergy
President Ruto’s plan revealed; Speaking to the media, Elgeyo Marakwet governor Wisley Kipyegon claimed that there was no partnership between the Kenya defense forces( KDF) and police.
Hon. Kipyegon cited that on Thursday, April 6, there was an attack, that’s when he noticed there’s a crack between the two security teams. He stated some officers lied to their seniors that they had had responded to emergency calls.
This comes after KDF were given a role to provide technical support to the police running the operation.
He stated,”Even if the President gave express orders, there is sabotage. Yesterday I experienced it first-hand when I called for backup for our National Police Reservists (NPRs) who were being cornered, and they were not responding.”
“Local police were lying to their bosses too, that they were on the ground, yet they weren’t. Maybe there is a breakdown in the chain if somebody is not doing the job as given,”he added.
The governor further claimed that some of the officers fear bandits, citing that they had better machinery than them.
He stated,”You can see that they fear. When the police hear the gunshot, you can see that the officers do not want to leave the police station.”
Notably, woman representative Caroline Ngelechei called out Interior cabinet secretary, Kithure Kindiki and his principal secretary to vacate office since the banditry attacks are getting worse.
She stated,”People are still getting injured and being killed. There is no reason why the CS and the PS should still be in office.”
