Pressure now on Sakaja after Kisumu bans Azimio demos.
Pressure now on Sakaja the governor of Nairobi, this comes after Kisumu county , which has a huge following for Raila, Banned their demonstrations.
Speaking at an event, Nyeri County, Laikipia Senator John Nderitu, stated that they are closely watching Johnson Sakaja since he is been quiet and people are suffering in Nairobi.
He stated,” We want to tell Sakaja that we are watching him keenly. He is not condemning the demonstrations that are taking place in the city. We can see that you (Sakaja) are acting like a chameleon.”
Nderitu mounted pressure saying Sakaja should declare his stance on the demonstrations now, and not cling the deputy president’s name.
He stated,”Declare your stand as we want to know. When we condemn you, you usually turn around and start mentioning the name of Gachagua. The Deputy President is not in your agemate.”
On the same issue, was Mukurwe- ini member of parliament, John Kaguchia who advised the the governor should rise up and ban the demonstrations in his city before it gets worse.
He stated,”Sakaja also needs to give the orders to ban the demos in the city, so that they can look for another place to take their demos.”
Sakaja on the other hand, after the first demonstration was held, businesses closed down and properties destroyed, He stated that the only solution was a dialogue between president Ruto and Raila Odinga.
He stated,”We saw people destroying public infrastructure and properties. They must be charged in a court of law.”
