Raila opposes the president’s proposal of creation of opposition office.
Opposition leader, Raila opposes the president’s proposal of mutilating the constitution and making amendments.
Raila questioned on why, the president was now on board with the building bridges initiative demands, when he opposed the matter for a very long time.
He stated,” He undoubtedly seeks to re-introduce the same matters that the Building Bridges Initiative had suggested for many months.”
“Had Mr. Ruto been honest about the BBI proposals, everything he has suggested in his memorandum would be law today,” Raila added.
He further stated that the head of state must comply to the same imperatives that he wanted during the BBI proposal.
He also stated that all those proposals, should be centred around the interest on the common mwananchi, not just the head of state’s view of the country.
He stated,”All proposals for amendments of the Constitution must start with the people. The amendments must chiefly centre on the interests of the common mwananchi.”
