Nairobi’s Hazina residents cause chaos at a police station. This comes after a man who was buried, returned back alive and well.
The residents demanded answers from the police on how a man can just resurrect from the dead.
The arisen man, a renowned boda boda operator, had returned from death after a series of fundraising to accord him a befitting send-off at Nyambaterere village in Nyacheki division, Nyamache sub-county on March 3rd.
Accorsing to Judith Nyongesa the Makadara police head, the boda boda rider did not die, he was arrested for blocking motorists in Nairobi Central Business District.
He was then jailed on Tuesday, February 14, at Nairobi West Prison in Lang’ata and transferred to Ruiru Prison where he completed his sentence on Friday, March 24 and was set free.
His family had retrieved a body from a sewer which was badly damaged with acid and buried it.
One of the family members explained,”The body was badly damaged, as if it had been burned with acid. His elder brother identified the body.”
“Boda Boda operators participated in large numbers and money was raised for funeral costs due to the condition of the body – so that it did not get damaged further,” he added.
The police have now announced plans to exhume the body and probe the matter. Family members have been adviced to take caution when identifying the bodies of their loved ones.
The police head stated,” I have contacted the Nyamache sub-county police chief so that police procedures will take their course. I urge members of the public to be keen while identifying bodies to avoid such mistakes.”
