Should anything happen to Raila on monday, blame Gachagua and Ruto- Sifuna.
Nairobi county senator has opined that should anything happen to Raila then all fingers will be pointed towards the president and his deputy.
He stated,”Should Raila Odinga catch a cold on Monday, the person to be held responsible is none other than President Ruto and DP Gachagua.”
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday at outside Parliament buildings, Sifuna stated that since the government has refused to give heed to their demands, then they must do what must be done.
He stated,”Indeed the window for dialogue has closed because we were hoping we would have the conversation about the issues within the time frame we gave.”
Sifuna further questioned on why the government is against the rally on monday, yet they have been holding peaceful rallies across the country, where no person or building was harmed.
He stated,”We have had 21 rallies and no injuries and cases of destruction of properties have been reported, they have been peaceful. Yet people continue to characterize us as people of violence. We understand the law and rights and we intend to use them.”
This comes after president Ruto ordered Raila to explain to the police how safe people and building will be on monday.
Ruto stated,”Kenyans have the right to protest but must do so peacefully and within the law. Odinga has been holding bloody and chaotic demonstrations for the last 50 years; he needs to assure Kenyans that this will be different.”
“This is why we’ve told Raila Odinga to sit down with police and explain to them how the demonstrations will be peaceful, ” he added.
President Ruto urged all Kenyans to go to work and not engage in any protest, come March 20th.
