Some of the highlights and Projects done by President Ruto while on his tour in the Kisii region.
Today, after the swearing in of the chief administrative secretaries in state house, the head of state flew to the Kisii region.
Some of the highlights include commissioning of the Kisii national polytechnic digital empowerment centre.
He announced 2000 TVET trainers recruitment, that the government will do, he affirmed that 50 of them will be placed at the Kisii national polytechnic.
He stated,”We will also hire an additional 2,000 tutors to support learning in TVET institutions across the country.”
Additionally, The commander in chief revealed plans to upgrade the vocational institutions, that will equip students with digital skills.
He stated,” The Government will upgrade Technical and Vocation Institutions into digital hubs by equipping them with computers. This will empower students with the digital skills they need to navigate and succeed in a digital jobs market.”
President Ruto also talked of the higher education loans board fund, where he promised that in two weeks time, the money will be disbursed for access to the learners.
He affirmed that Higher Loans Board has allocated enough resources to meet the need of all students, that are in tertiary institutions that’s TVETS and Universities.
The head of state also launched Kegati water treatment plant. He stated that the plant is aimed at connectivity and supppy of water around Kisii municipality.
Notably, The president Launched the upgrading to bitumen standard of Gekano-Rigoma-Amabuko, Ngenyi-Manga-Motemumwamu, Gekano-Girango and Gekano-Muturmesi-Birongo roads, Kisii County.
He stated,” We are constructing, rehabilitating and upgrading road networks across the country in appreciation that good infrastructure eases the movement of goods and services besides opening up rural areas for more trade and business.“
President Ruto was accompanied by Cabinet Secretaries Eliud Owalo (ICT), Ezekiel Machogu (Education), Governor’s Simba Simba Arati (Kisii) and Amos Nyaribo (Nyamira) among other leaders.
