These plans are contemptuous to the Muslim Faith- Muslims call on Raila to suspend demos on ramadhan month.
Speaking yesterday, Eldai Member of parliament , Adan Keynan implored opposition leader, Raila Odinga to stop the demos that he has scheduled twice weekly.
Keynan argued that being the holy month of Ramadhan, Raila should be considerate of the muslim faith. He added that this demonstration pose a negative view Kenya even to other nations.
He stated,”These plans are contemptuous to the Muslim Faith and casts Kenya in a negative light to the rest of the world as a country that does not care about the rule of law and religious freedom.”
Notably, the lawmaker highlighted that even as they seek Allah to accept their Dua’ they have a right to a peaceful environment during this season.
He stated,”The Muslim Community has a right to tranquil environment during the Ramadan, as we pray for peace and the unity of the Nation, against the backdrop of heightened tension and economic unrest.”
His pleas came two days after Muslim clerics, urged Raila to stop with the demonstrations because of the holy nature of this months.
They stated,”Tunatoa mwito kwa wale waandalizi wa maandamao waheshimu waislamu na mwezi huu kwani ni mwezi wao wa ibada.
However, Raila has swore not to back down, from his fight. He stated that he knows the truth and is living in it.
He stated,”Our answer to the clergy is in the gospel, I want to quote John 8:32 – Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”
