This is an incident that I have regretted forever- Kinuthia confesses to killing Ivy Wangeci.
Naftali Kinuthia, on friday confessed to killing the late medical student, Ivy Wangeci. He stated that he was filled with anger, because of the thought of loosing what he assumed as a long term relationship.
He told the court the kind of agony he has been going through, including the stereotyping that comes with people calling you a murderer.
He stated,”This is an incident that I have regretted forever. After thinking about it and reflecting, I knew it would not have happened since there were many ways to get around the situation without causing the death of an innocent person.”
“Since that day I have felt like I have been secluded from society since killing a person is unacceptable in society,” he added.
He narrated that while in prison, he lost his grand father to lung cancer. He added that he now knows what Ivy’s family must be feeling because death is not an easy thing to come into terms with.
He stated,” All this time I have been in prison… I was told that my father was ailing of lung disease and passed away while I was in prison.”
“The feeling of losing a person is hard and I feel bad for the victim’s family. If there was anything that could be done now, we could do it,” he added.
Wangechi was axed to death outside the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret on April 9, 2019, in broad daylight, when she coming from her ward rounds.
