We have transferred all police officers from Isebania police- CS Kindiki.
Interior cabinet secretary, Kithure Kindiki has announced that all police officers stationed at Isebania police station, have gotten transfers.
This comes after last week’s attack on the local police station by mobs armed with crude weapons leading to confrontations in which five people were killed and scores of civilians and police officers injured.
Kindiki stated,”Following a wave of insecurity and violent protests in Isebania, Migori County that led to the death of five persons, the Government has taken the decision to transfer all Police officers currently serving at Isebania Police Station to facilitate in-depth and conclusive investigations. I condole with the families and relatives of the deceased residents and assure them that justice will be done and those found culpable held to account, in accordance with the law.”
Notably, The interior cabinet secretary also transferred all personnel responsible with the entry of goods and people at the boarder.
Kindiki stated,” All KRA, KEBS, Anti-counterfeit and Immigration department serving at Isebania border have also been transferred effective immediately. Any officer who through collusion and corruption allows contraband or counterfeit goods to get into the country will not be transferred to another station but interdicted and prosecuted.”
The CS further urged Kenyans to always turn to the law instead of taking matters into their own hands.
He stated,” As country, we must resolve all grievances peaceably, no matter how aggrieved one is. I appeal to all Kenyans to desist from taking the law into their own hands, retaliation and destruction of property in pursuit of justice. As your security minister, I will not allow lawlessness and disorder to rule. The Government policy moving forward is that no police officer will serve in one station for more than three years.”
