Wetangula addresses reports of being appointed National assembly speaker. Speaking on the Media, the FORD KENYA leader stated that indeed he will be the next national assembly speaker.
The Bungoma senator elect, Moses Wetangula revealed that , to be appointed the national assembly speaker was the signed deal he had with the Kenya kwanza coalition of president elect William Ruto.
If by any chance , the president elect,William Ruto ,appoints Moses Wetangula as the national assembly speaker, the constitution mandates him to resign from his seat in the senate.
According to the distribution of power in Kenya, the national assembly speaker is the third command after the president and the deputy president.
Wetangula stated,”I am going to be the third in command of the country. I pray to God that he gives me the wisdom to lead the National Assembly and coordinate well with the Senate.”
He further stated that he is ready to bring good laws to the land of Kenya. He also stated the budgets that will be discussed in parliament will be focused on the common Mwananchi.
He said,”We will bring good laws to this country, advocate for pro-people budgets and ensure that Kenya will never be the same again.”
The FORD kenya leader went ahead to say that his camp, Kenya kwanza has more numbers in the national assembly.
He further stated that the independent leaders who joined Kenya kwanza including the Azimio la umoja leaders who defected to their camp has made Kenya kwanza have the upper hand in the national assembly.
He said,”We have the numbers, so people should not be worried. Leaders from the Northern part of Kenya and some independents have joined us and we will see to it that this country goes in the right direction.”
Wetangula also revealed that Kenya kwanza is willing to have president Uhuru Kenyatta in their camp and even give him a job.
He said,”We will give you international assignments to go outside the country and other obligations including overseeing elections in foreign countries as other retired presidents do.”
