Win for Kenya kwanza as PSC releases fifth cohort of 3,902 interns.
Speaking at the launch of the 2021/2022 Report on Status of Compliance with the Values and Principles of Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution, Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi.,DP Rigathi Gachagua, announced that it is a win for Kenya kwanza.
Together with president William Ruto, they commissioned the public service commission internship program.
Gachagua stated,” It was a significant day for the Kenya Kwanza Administration as the PSC Kenya released the Fifth Cohort of 3,902 interns into public service, injecting fresh energy and impetus.”
The deputy president highlighted that for the first year, these interns will be able to articulate what they have learnt from their tertiary institutions into the private and public sector before they are absorbed into the system.
He expressed that internship is a core step if one wants to manouvre the job market. An individual is exposed to what happens on the ground apart from the theory that has been learnt in school.
DP Rigathi stated,”For one year, they will put into practice what they learnt at college in preparation for absorption into public and private sectors.”
“Internship is key to equipping the youth with hands-on skills for a vibrant and motivated workforce in the public and private sector, as well as in triggering creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship as one discovers their strengths,” he added.
On his part, President William Ruto, stated that they are transforming the Public Service to make it adapt to the changing times and more responsive to the needs of the people.
He expressed,”The Government will facilitate the Public Service Commission so as to exhibit high levels of productivity and excellent performance that will stimulate the realisation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation agenda.”
